    Northstar Fire Department

    Northstar Fire Department services the Northstar resort community, located on the east slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in unincorporated Placer County. Northstar Fire Department District boundaries cover approximately 4.8 miles with a sphere of influence of approximately 18 square miles. Northstar Fire Department is an independent Special District under the Northstar Community Services District. The fire department is managed by the Fire Chief, the Community Services District is managed by a General Manager, and a five person elected Board of Directors governs the District. The community of Northstar is home to one of Tahoe’s finest ski resorts. During peak seasons the population at Northstar can grow to more than 15,000 people. Currently, the department provides advanced life support engine company response. Patient transport is provided by Truckee Fire Protection District.
