Trails
Northstar Community Services District (NCSD) invites the public to explore the beautiful Tompkins Memorial Trail (TMT),
and Martis Valley Trail (MVT) networks, open year-round to the public for hiking, running, biking, and recreating.
Developed and constructed, in a multi-agency collaborations, NCSD has planned, constructed and provides maintenance
for over 23 miles of multi-use trails.
The TMT meanders through the forested areas surrounding the Northstar Community, connecting to the Martis Creek Wildlife trail network.
The paved trail connects the Northstar Resort village with the lower neighborhoods of the community, Porcupine Hill, western
segments of the Martis Creek Trail, and the Martis Valley communities of Lahontan, Schaffer's Mill, and Martis Camp.
The path joins the Town of Truckee trail network to further connect with the Legacy Trail; a portion of the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail that connects the
region with the Truckee River communities of Glenshire, Verdi, Floriston, Northwest Reno and even further on to Pyramid Lake where the Truckee
River terminates.
