History of the Northstar Fire Department

In 1972, County Services Area (CSA) 21 began serving the communities of Northstar and Olympic Valley in Eastern Placer County, California. Staffing consisted of a part-time fire chief and local volunteers. Station 31 was constructed in 1975 and staffing was increased to In 1992, the community of Northstar left CSA 21 and formed a special district known as the Northstar Community Services District (NCSD).
